Okay, I admit it. I have real issues with bathing suits - well, not really the suits themselves, but rather my body in one of those things. Who doesn't really have the same issues?
This summer I have decided no more. I am going to actually come to grips with either my weak body image and/or find a suit that flatters my body type. Optimistic, ain't I? What is the inspiration? A month in Hawaii!! Yes, you read it right. I figured out how much I spent on summer camps, mini summer vacations and pre-school and decided - heck no! I am putting that all together and buying something we ALL could enjoy this summer. So we are Hawaii bound - yes, a tiny shack of a house, but a house none the less, for 30 days! Yes, I still have to work! (We have DSL) But since I am a work at home mama, if my home is in Hawaii - so be it:) Hope this works out and I don't kill either my children or my husband.
This brings me to the bathing suit dilemma! So if I am there a month and am going to be taking surfing lessons here, then I need to be in shape. Okay, maybe not in perfect shape - but good enough to fit most of me into a bathing suit, which I have to say is a TALL order, since I still have plenty of post baby weight (Okay, you got me. It is really too much chocolate cake at 11 p.m. weight! Bad habits die hard.)
I am going to blog the good, the bad and the ugly of this little adventure - so stay tuned or close your eyes.

Go on, mama! As a woman who tried on (ack!) 67 swimsuits last year (alone) before I finally settled on two to invest a small but worthwhile fortune in purchasing (I kid you not), I applaud your courage, your hopefulness and what I am sure will be a killah suit, darling! Can't wait to keep reading...

Heya sistah! I am so with you on the bathing suit issue. Here's the dealio - I discovered last season that if you head over to Santa Cruz or Capitola you can find some great beachwear at the surf shops. My favorite are the boy shorts and swim shirts. Best of all are the quick-dry surf shorts. They cover just about everything you wish to hide! I lived in that stuff last year!
BTW, I can't wait to see the picture posted of you jumping off the board just like the guy on the Hawaiian Fire website!
