The winner of the Family Party 30 Great Outdoor Fun game for the wii is Robyn from Who's the Boss Blog.
Knowing that the kids and I in the house are a bit obsessive about video games. The fine folks at D3 /Tamsoft sent over a free copy of Family Party 30 Great Games Outdoor Fun. Testament to any game in my book is when it is a rainy day and the kids pick a particular game to play over the others in their collection. Family Party 30 Great Games Outdoor Fun fit the bill at our house last weekend.
Here are some of the comments that were yelled in my living room as I played with three 8 year old boys and my 6 year old daughter:
Oh this is hard.
You're gettin' beatin by a girl!
Ah, this is fun!
You stink!
NOOOOOOO!!!!!
Yes! I'm First! Oh yeah!!
I'm kinda sweaty from playing.Outdoor Fun, made exclusively for the Wii had something to offer everyone in the family with a wide variety of engaging games featuring martial arts, team sports, individual athletics, and challenging brain games. Essentially, you get to choose from over a dozen avatar/characters, compete against each other and ultimately, win medals or more importantly, the glory of beating everyone you are playing against.
Here is our collective feedback on the game:
- Some of the games are hard for the 8YO set, like the Unicycle game.
- Really need to be in front of sensor because the game requires a lot of movement.
- Each game was different, so had to slow down and read directions to play. (not a bad thing, just slowed the kids down from switching game to game)
- Graphics pretty good - interesting and gave you feeling you were outside.
- Fun to choose how many games to play and which ones you like, unlike Mario Party 8.
- Fun to play against each other.
Other thoughts from the kids:
"It would be cool if there were crowds on the side that cheered for you, for all the games, like the baseball game" (Me: I suppose that is what we could do for each other:) )
"The most fun game was "Home Run Match" and "The Quarterback". (Me: Agreed both super fun, but I am not as coordinated as they are so am not as "skilled" as they were. I also liked the "Rowing game". It did make me sweaty!)
Overall it lived up to ts marketing in that the entire family could play. Some games were easier and more intuitive than others, but we had a great time.Developed by Tamsoft, Outdoor Fun is rated “E10+” for Mild Cartoon Violence, and now available for a suggested retail price of $19.95.
GIVEAWAY: I am giving away a copy of Outdoor Fun to one lucky reader. Simply leave a comment telling me what is your favorite "outdoor activity" with valid email. Winner will be picked using random.org on October 29, 2009.

We love the Wii and are always looking for new games that can involve the whole family.
Our favorite outdoor activity is swimming. On those hot California days, nothing compares to spending a day at the pool!

My three kids love to do just about anything outside-- from digging in the dirt to amusing themselves with sticks. :) I'm more of a fan of lower key activities like a plain old nice walk in the woods!

A favorite outdoor activity for Caroline is riding her scooter up and down the street with a few of the kids on our block. Parents take shifts in watching the kids to make sure that the safety rules are closely followed. Though Caroline isn't even aware of it, she is building lifelong memories of a carefree childhood living in San Jose.

I love the fact that you can use video games to actually interact with your children in a fun, constructive way. This game looks pretty cool

It's also an inside game. A student played the part of the dog. He or she sat in a chair with their back to the class. An eraser or another object was put under the chair. That was the bone. While the dog was turned around with his or her eyes closed someone would sneak up and steal the bone and hide it somewhere on his person. Then everyone would sing: Doggy, Doggy, where's your bone? Somebody's stole it from your home. Guess who it might be you. Then the dog has three chances to guess who took it. Sometimes it was left under his or her chair. If the dog guessed right then he got to do it again. If he guessed wrong than the person who had the bone got a turn as the dog.

Seven students were in front of the class. The class laid their heads on their desk. The seven went out and each touched a person. That person would stick his or her thumb up. Then the seven would say "heads up seven up" and each student got one chance to guess which of the seven touched him If they guessed right than they changed places. If they did not the same person got to stay up.

If you notice a blue, purple or pale area on your leg, then this may possibly be an indication that the blood is not moving as well as it should really to the spot.
