You know you are a mom…when you find yourself chaperoning/shuttling kids to the school band performance without any kahlua in your coffee cup.  You know that you're a mother when you find yourself tearing up during the performance. Why? Not because of how elegantly your child played, but because when she first started it was ALL awful squeals and sqeaks.  And somehow, the "noise" that comes out of her recorder now sounds like music. Ahhh..
