I am such the child of the 80's. Tonight's episode of American Idol reminded of "how cool" I was - not! But the show did bring me down memory lane...
First of all, Aussie Michael John's version of Simple Mind's Don't You from one my favorite all time movies the Breakfast Club rocked. Man, did I love bad-boy Judd Nelson. Was it not your dream to be stuck in the closet with him too?? I was SO obsessed with Molly Ringwald, one of my best pals dyed her hair red in homage. Not so cute... but a good effort:) Remember Sixteen Candles and Pretty In Pink - Oh, how I believed Jon Hughes was making those movies for me...
Whoa, David Cook's rendition of Lionel Ritchie's Hello simply kicked butt. OMG! (I would download it!) Do you remember that video? It was kinda creepy with him stalking and lurking. I embedded - let me know what you think. Check out the turned up collars - so 80's. I, of course, am guilty as charged.
Last but certainly not least, Wham. What was Luke Menard thinking? Wake me up before you go go? All he was missing was that a big neon shirt with some weird saying and dolphin shorts. No, No, No bad idea for anyone - even George Michael himself - aack! Don't get me wrong, I love Wham and George. Here is one my favorite songs by them, Careless Whisper. Now doesn't it take you back to prom? Dang, I am old!
